Norfolk v Bedfordshire - February 2010
Norfolk entertained Bedfordshire in the first match of the new season and had three wins out of the four sections.
The A match proved very close with the home team just ahead all the way. They won the first leg 7-4, then lost the second 6-5, then restored their lead with another 7-4 win in the third leg. With two frames to go they led 22-20 but looked in danger of losing the last two frames, however these were turned round by Paul Bond and John Martin to win both, and secure a 24-20 win.
The Men's B and Ladies matches were very easy victories for the home teams both winning 31-13.
The Youth team, with several new players, were up against a very good visiting team. They lost the first leg by the odd frame but were then left well behind, losing the second leg 9-2. This was followed with an 8-3 and 6-5 defeat in the final two legs to lose the match 29-15, although manager Roy Kiddell emphasised the score did not reflect the play in the match.
