Norfolk v Bedfordshire - May 2008

A clean sheet over Beds

Norfolk entertained Bedfordshire at Attleborough Snooker Centre.

4-0: Danny Raisborough

Bedfordshire were top of the Men's A section, but it was the home team that made the better start by taking the first leg 7-4. The second was a closer affair and Norfolk still won it by the odd frame, but going down the third leg the home players began to look nervous as Beds put on the pressure. The visitors took the leg 6-5, and in the final leg Beds won the first three frames to level the match, but the home side put five frames together at the end to take the leg 7-4 and the match 25-19. Danny Raisborough and James Hammond both won their four frames.

4-0: Paul Bond

In the Men's B it was very close from the start. The home team took the first leg by the odd frame but the visitors took four of the next five to take the lead. Back came the home side to take five of the next six to lead by two, and again the visitors hit back to take the third leg 6-5 and trail by just one frame going into the final leg. Norfolk turned on the style down the final leg with an 8-3 win to take the match 25-19, with Paul Bond unbeaten.

The Ladies match started with the visitors taking a 3-0 lead, but Norfolk came back to take the leg 6-5 and then ran away with the second leg 9-2. The third was very close again as the home side edged it 6-5. They then took the final leg 8-3 which turned into a comfortable 29-15 victory to maintain their position at the top of the table. Julie Burch and Sarah Maisey remained unbeaten.
